On Saturday 13th of March, the General Council organized a virtual online meeting with Provincial Council of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province, Belize. It is a small Province with 16 final professed Sisters in three communities. The meeting began with a brief report presented by Sr. Clara Teul, Provincial Superior on the actual situation of the communities and Province at large.

The mission and long-standing history of the existence of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters is still vivid in the hearts of the Belizean people. In spite of the decline in numbers of Sisters and old age, the mission continues in the fields of education, service to the poor and, faith formation.

Sisters are grateful to God for many blessings received during these years of service to the Belizean nation and the remarkable support of the lay people. However, they recognize many challenges that are appearing in the daily life of the sisters due to the difference in ages and lack of younger members able to take the role of leadership in the future.

The open discussion and sharing on different issues gave an impetus to deal with the immediate future of the Province, namely emphasizing on how to enhance the spiritual life of the sisters, good collaboration, revitalization of community life, fruitful formation and insisting on a life of witness to the people.

Although the Province is facing great challenge, the good works of the Sisters bring great joy to the hearts of many people. The seed of hope which was sown by the pioneer’s continues to look to the future with much courage and confidence.
