The Queen of Peace Province celebrated its 52nd Provincial Chapter from 10 -17, December 2022 in PoliSingisi, Arusha. It was officially opened by Sr. Basilisa Jacob the Provincial Superior with the theme; “That they may be one as we are one” (Jn. 17:21) During the opening ceremony Sr. Basilisa invited the delegates to focus on this theme of oneness while reflecting the present reality of the Province and thanking God for the past and looking to the future with great hope.
It has been a joy and privilege to have Sr. Josephina D’Souza, the Superior General and Sr. Marie Claire, the General Councilor with us. In delivering her opening message, Sr. Josephina reminded the delegates of the General Chapter theme; “Do whatever He tells you”. This should lead them in their discernment and deliberations on their journey to the future in the spirit of collegiality. She invited them to reflect on the Synodality process in decision making – by listening, dialogue and participation. The Chapter should lead the Province to prophetic witness, transmitting light from God to the world. She ended up by wishing the Sisters a fruitful chapter.
All the Chapter members in prayerful mood entered the matters of the Province in order to find a way forward to bring newness in the life of the Province to serve the Congregation, Church and the world with our charism and identity. After deliberating for three days and preparing the constructive recommendation, members moved on to the election process. On 15 December 2022, after a spiritual discernment process, the members elected a new Provincial Team to lead and guide the Province for another three years.

All the Chapter members joined hands in thanking the sisters of our Congregation who were united in prayers throughout these days. May God in His power guide the new team to do His Will for His greater honour and glory.
