“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.” (John 15:16)
On June 6, 2026, the community of the Generalate, Sisters from the Procura and Moncenisio Communities, family members and friends gathered in gratitude and joy to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the religious consecration of Sister Alda Isa Paes, member of the General Council of our Congregation. This special occasion marked twenty-five years of faithful service to God, the Church, and the Congregation. The Jubilee was more than an anniversary; it was a celebration of God’s faithfulness and a testimony to a life generously dedicated to His service. It invited all present to reflect on the gift of vocation and the beauty of responding wholeheartedly to God’s call.
The Eucharistic Celebration, the heart of the day, took place at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of the Generalate. The Holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Richard D’Souza, SJ, together with other concelebrating priests. In his homily, Fr. Richard reflected on the mystery of God’s call, emphasizing that vocation is always God’s initiative. He reminded the assembly that consecrated life is a total gift of self and a trusting surrender to Divine Providence. Drawing inspiration from Abraham and Mary, he highlighted the courage and faith required to place one’s life completely at the service of God’s Kingdom.
Twenty-five years ago, Sister Alda responded to that call with generosity and trust. Since then, she has faithfully served in various ministries and responsibilities, witnessing to the joy of belonging entirely to Christ. The celebration echoed the words of the Psalmist: “I thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and love” (Ps 137:2), recognizing the many blessings received throughout her years of consecrated life.
The spirituality of Saint Vincent Pallotti was also reflected throughout the celebration. His teaching that “The love of Christ urges us to promote, by every possible means, the glory of God and the salvation of souls” beautifully expresses the spirit with which Sister Alda has lived her vocation. Her service within the General Council is a concrete sign of apostolic charity and dedication to the mission of the Church.
Following the Mass, guests gathered for a festive meal marked by fraternity, gratitude, and joyful fellowship. The atmosphere reflected the deep bonds formed through years of shared mission and service. The presence of Sister Alda’s relatives added a special warmth to the occasion and the support.
We thank God for the gift of Sister Alda, her faith, generosity, missionary spirit, and unwavering commitment to the charism of our Congregation. May the words of Saint Paul continue to accompany her: “I thank my God every time I remember you” (Phil 1:3). We congratulate Sister Alda and entrust her future to the loving care of the Lord. May He continue to bless her with strength, joy, and zeal in the years ahead. May her life continue to proclaim God’s infinite love and inspire many others to respond generously to Christ’s call.
