Final Profession and 65 years of Profession Jubilee
August 15 was a day of great rejoicing for the Pallottine Missionary Sisters in Belize. On the feast day of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, Sr. Katharine Müller celebrated her 65 years of Profession and Sr. Ester Paau pronounced her final vows. The great event was held in the Novitiate Chapel at Nazareth, Punta Gorda. The Solemn Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Lawrence Nicasio together with three priests from Toledo.
It was a joyful moment for the people gathered when Sr. Ester Paau came forward to pronounce her final commitment as a Pallottine Missionary Sister in our Congregation. She is from one of the villages of Toledo district and many lay people together with her parents and relatives witnessed this event with tremendous faith. They also admire the courage of Sr. Esther as she promised to journey forever in religious life. It was indeed a day of rejoicing and experiencing Gods presence in our midst.
Sr. Katharina Müller, the only one left from the German missionaries in Belize, with humble dignity celebrated her 65th Jubilee of Profession. Sr. Katharina is recognized, and much admired as a courageous religious who came to Belize as a young religious woman to serve the people of God. She crossed the ocean to her new home in Belize in July 1953. She worked for many years in the Toledo District and then transferred to Belize City, where she served many more years while teaching Food and Nutrition at Pallotti High School.
Sr. Katharina is a Belizean in her heart, and we are ever grateful to God for her presence. We congratulate and thank for her faithful missionary service to our people and for her great witness of the Gospel. God be praised for this grand occasion and may many more young women hear and respond to the call to be labourers in Gods vineyard.
