The purpose of the visit was to participate in the Holy Mass of the Solemnity of the Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, in which Pope Francis delivered the Pallium to 34 new Metropolitan Archbishops appointed this year. ‘Be like Peter and Paul, free but humble’- Pope Francis said to the shepherds of the Church.

Among them was Msgr. Tadeusz Wojda, SAC, Archbishop of Gdańsk (Poland), who from 1990 to 2017 spent long years of service in the Missionary Dicastery, first at the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith and then in the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, of which he was Head of Office and Undersecretary. Mon. Tadeusz Wojda, who was the archbishop of Bialystok, this year on Palm Sunday was appointed the Archbishop of Gdansk. Therefore, he was present on this special occasion with his priests from the archdiocese to received the Pallium for second time from the hands of the Holy Father.

In the morning the Archbishop with his bishops and priests celebrated the Holy Mass in our Generalate Chapel. The different languages in the liturgy showed the diversity in the universal Church. To mark this celebration of the special occasion, we invited Mons. Tadeusz Wojda, bishops and priests for a fellowship dinner in Procura.
