On 15 of March, in our Generalate of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters, the two General Councils of the Pallottine Sisters´ Congregations, i.e. the Pallottine Sisters (Roman) and Pallottine Missionary Sisters, came together to continue our tradition of sisterly collaboration. This was the first gathering after the General Chapter of our Congregation in 2016. United in one charism, we were ten Sisters, coming from 6 countries and 4 continents.
The meeting began with a prayerful reflection in the chapel. The two Superiors General: Sr. Ivete Garlet, CSAC and Sr. Izabela Świerad, SAC brought to the altar a meaningful sign, two burning candles. The listening to and sharing of the Word of God was the first step in our reflection.
During the session we discussed our current affairs, in which we take part together and we reflected on how to expand and to strengthen our collaboration, in order to work more effectively as Congregations with one Founder, one charism and one spirit. The main topics of our discussion were common formation and a fruitful presence in the UAC.
The recalling of experiences from our shared history became a clear motivation and encouragement to continue along our common Pallottine path.
The reflection on the strengthening of our cooperation is accompanied by our deep desire to realize Pallotti’s idea for unity. One Founder, one date of the foundation of our communities, one charism and spiritual heritage is our common gift – a gift to be offered to the Church.
The meeting left us with the grateful experience that our history is always accompanied by the will of God and penetrated with the spirit of the Founder.
