New Venture – International Novitiate
March 2017
With immense joy, Tanzanian Sisters welcomed Sr. Izabela Swierad, Superior General and Sr. Josephina D’ Souza, Vice General at Poli Singisi community, Arusha – Tanzania. The purpose of the visit was to do the preliminary study for establishing the International Novitiate in Tanzania, which was discussed at the XXth General Chapter in July 2016.
The exploration began by having series of meetings with the Provincial and her Council in Poli Singisi. All Sisters were very happy, and joyfully accepted the proposal to host the International Novitiate in the soil of Tanzania, at the foot of Kilimanjaro. The intensive discussion was held between the Provincial Council and team of Formators from Tanzania, Rwanda and Cameroon to plan the mode of preparation, program and involvement of the Sisters in the forthcoming new project.
Sisters also visited the Archbishop of Arusha Most Rev. Josaphat L. Lebulu to share the idea about the project and implored his blessings for its success. Meanwhile they also visited some of the neighboring religious communities who have the experience of having the international novitiate in Tanzania. Their contributions gave us a wider view to venture into the possibilities of suitable perspectives.
We the Tanzanian Sisters are proud and open and ready to collaborate with the General Council and other Provinces to concretize the idea of having the International Novitiate for our Sisters. We believe this endeavor will open the new horizons for our Congregation, strengthen the unity and will deepen the mission Spirit among the members.
We entrust all our aspirations to our patroness Mary, Queen of Apostles and to Our Founder St. Vincent Pallotti. May Blessed Elizabeth Sana intercede for us.
