The occasion of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is celebrated worldwide annually on 01st September. Our sisters in the Indian Province celebrated this day in the communities with hostel girls and in formation houses by coming together in prayer and thanksgiving to celebrate the beauty and richness of God’s creation. This special day was an invitation to reflect on our responsibility to protect the Earth, respect all living beings, and care for our common home.
Through meaningful prayer services the young minds of the hostel girls as well as the candidates in formation were encouraged to understand that caring for creation begins with small daily actions, such as keeping their surroundings clean, respecting all living beings, avoiding waste, and protecting the gifts of nature. They stressed that care for creation entails simple daily chores done with responsibility and gratitude for the resources God bestows upon us. The Sisters and Candidates also participated in planting flowers saplings in their premises.
All these communities showcased different symbols in the chapel representing God’s loving creation reflecting the beauty and importance of the Earth. The members also renewed their commitment to become responsible stewards of God’s precious gift of creation.
This celebration was a beautiful reminder to continue to protect, cherish, and preserve God’s creation through their daily choices and actions, for the well-being of the present and future generations.
