In those days, Mary set out and journeyed in haste into the hill country to a town of Judah where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.
Lk 1:39-40

What impresses me here is Mary’s good listening. Although she received such a unique message for herself, she did not overhear the statement about her cousin Elizabeth.

It could be that Mary hastens to receive confirmation of what she has been told, but she also hastens to help.

Do I always listen so carefully?
