The Lord’s Graces are Inexhaustible – Celebrating 60 Years of the Procura Generale

On Saturday, November 15th, the Pallottine Missionary Sisters welcomed a large gathering of guests to celebrate a remarkable milestone for the Procura Generale — 60 years of mission, hospitality, and service. The thanksgiving Mass took place in the Procura’s chapel, filled with friends, benefactors, collaborators, and members of the extended spiritual family who have accompanied this house throughout its journey.

The Eucharist was presided over by Fr. Krzysztof Kowalczyk, the Superior General of the Salvatorian Fathers, whose congregation has faithfully provided chaplains to the Procura over many decades and till now. Their presence, together with members of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, Pallottine Fathers, Salesian Father, Parish priest, lay representatives of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, benefactors, and both current and former employees with their families, added beauty and depth to this moment of communal gratitude.

The liturgy opened with a warm welcome to all participants. Staff members and their children contributed meaningfully by proclaiming the readings and singing the psalm, while music prepared especially for the occasion elevated the prayerful atmosphere.

In his homily, the main celebrant reflected on the humble beginnings of the Procura in 1965 and highlighted the quiet yet powerful witness of the Sisters whose dedication, patience, and joyful service have shaped the house’s reputation in Rome. He also emphasized the Procura’s unique mission of hospitality — especially toward families of young patients from the nearby Bambino Gesù Hospital — and invoked God’s blessing upon its future.

At the conclusion of the Mass, a message of heartfelt gratitude was shared. The Sisters expressed deep appreciation to all who support the Procura, with particular thanks to the lay staff whose daily commitment enables guests from around the world to find not only comfort, but also an encounter with God’s presence through the warmth and kindness offered in this home.

The celebration continued in a festively decorated dining room adorned with flowers and symbols commemorating the 60-year journey. Before the meal, a blessing was offered, and floral arrangements – gifts from the Procura’s staff and collaborators – were presented as a gesture of unity and appreciation.

The remainder of the gathering unfolded in a joyful, family-like atmosphere. Delicious dishes, lively conversations, and shared memories created a deep sense of gratitude and belonging. It became not only a celebration of the past, but also a renewed reminder of the spiritual richness that continues to flourish within the Casa per Ferie (guest house) and among all who serve it with generosity and love.
