Founded in 1935 by the German Pallottine Missionary Sisters, St Joseph’s has evolved from its roots into a dynamic and specialised healthcare facility. Today, a team of 139 professionals—including nurses, therapists, care workers, a medical doctor, and essential operations staff—work together tirelessly to provide holistic, life-changing care to families in need.

“For nine decades, St Joseph’s has been a beacon of hope for thousands of children requiring transitional medical care,” says Lesley Liddle, Business Development Manager at St Joseph’s. “Our work would not be possible without the incredible support from donors, partners, and the broader community.”

10th September 2025 was a day of joy and thanksgiving for the sisters and whole St. Joseph’s family in Cape Town, South Africa. The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rt. Rev. Bishop Sylvester David, concelebrated by Pallottine fathers, Diocesan priests and our Chaplin Fr. Emmanuel Karengi. Bishop in his homily appreciated and congratulated the Pallottine sisters who initiated and built this Home with vision and dedication for the sick and vulnerable children which stands a beacon of hope for many till the present. Whoever comes to St Joseph’s Home cultivates a sense of hope and experiences true love, healing, and social interactions. It is a pillar of faith built on a Christian foundation of values and unconditional love.
