On 15 August 2025, we celebrated the high jubilees of nine sisters. They took their vows 60, 65, 70 and 75 years ago. Besides one sister from the United States and one sister from Belize, there are seven German sisters who began their religious life in Limburg. Today, they all live in five countries on three continents, where they have spent decades of their lives in the service of God and his people.
The oldest among them is Sr. Agnes Leinweber, who dedicated her life completely to God in 1950. Sr. Boscona Schämann, now a member of the Province in South Africa, Sr. Hieronyma Wrobel, now in the Delegature of Switzerland, and Sr. Karen Lester in the United States took their first vows five years later, in 1955. From the next group of three sisters who took their vows in Germany in 1960 – namely Sr. Augustine Weber, Sr. Ingrid Salzer and Sr. Francesca Lowis – the latter was sent to America. Finally, in 1965 the first profession was made by Sr. Elisabeth Lenhof in Limburg and Sr. Josefina Alamilla in Belize.
We join our sisters in thanking God, who faithfully stood by them through all the ups and downs of their lives, encouraging them and giving them strength.
