Nishkalanka Seva Home, Rasayani celebrated the fifth World Day of Grandparent’s and Elderly on 26th July 2025, coinciding with the feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne. Following the theme of the universal church, “Blessed are those who have not lost hope”. Fr. Thomas Miranda, SAC the parish priest celebrated the Holy Eucharist, thanking God for the gift of each senior citizen and elderly in our Home and also throughout the world. Feast day cake was cut as part of the celebration to honour them all and wishes were extended.
The Manager of St. Vincent Pallotti school, Rasayani, Fr. Thomas Miranda, Fr. Carlos Luis, the Principal along with their teachers and 40 students came to perform program as a token of love and appreciation. With vibrant dances, a touching skit, fulfilled games, handmade greetings card and warm wishes the students shared their joy and gratitude and created memories in the hearts of all seniors. Sr. Dr. Eugine Nirmala, the administrator thanked them for their thoughtfulness in sharing the time, talents and love with the seniors and appreciated the spirit of community and care demonstrated. The delicious meals served throughout the day added to the joy of the celebration.
The institute gratefully acknowledged the role of all the sisters and support workers, who handle the challenging the task of managing health issues, provide emotional support and ensuring well-being of the seniors which always contribute to the enhancing quality of life for seniors, provides companionship and support for their physical and spiritual needs. With gratitude and joy in hearts and smile on the faces, the day ended with happy and memorable note. The whole program was organized under the guidance of Sr. Antonieta Rodrigues.
