The 53rd Provincial Chapter of Queen of Peace Province England/ Tanzania was held at our Provincial House Laki Tatu, Arusha, Tanzania from the 10th- 17th December 2025.
In this historical event, we were blessed to be with our Superior General Sr. Josephina D’Souza as the president, Sr. Adelheid Scheloske, a General Councillor, Sr. Mary McNulty and Sr. Nancy Logue from England, Sr. Redempta Mallya and Sr. Veronica Ghuliku from Zambia mission, and sisters from Tanzania.
The chapter opened with a recollection day, which offered a moment of reflection to the delegates of the chapter as we had spiritual input, adoration and community prayers together.
On the 11th of December, the Holy Mass for opening the chapter, was presided over by Most Rt. Rev. Isaac Amani, the Archbishop of Arusha. He invited the Sisters to go back to the roots of our Holy Founder St. Vincent Pallotti as we proceed with our chapter, so that we may be able to “Embrace our charism with one heart and one mind.” On this occasion, the new postulants’ house was also inaugurated and blessed.
In her opening address to the chapter members, the Superior General Sr. Josephina D’Souza, SAC expressed that “chapter is a grace-filled moment.” Guided by the Holy Spirit, it is a moment to listen and discern together for the future of the Province and the Congregation at large. During the chapter, God is in control of everything and we are to listen and accept the prophecy of the time.
In the following days, we listened to various reports that familiarized us with the current situation of our Province. In plenary sessions and working groups, we discussed and discerned the future, and we decided on several recommendations and proposals for the coming years.
Towards the end of the chapter, the new Provincial Government was elected. Sr. Basilisa Jacob was elected Provincial Superior, Sr. Fabiola Joseph Sulle, Vicar of the Provincial, Sr. Honorata Lyimo, Sr. Agripina Mmassy, Sr. Gernoveva Salanga were elected Provincial Councillors.
We thank God for the many blessings and graces that he has poured upon all delegates of the chapter and the contribution made by each member for the benefit of the Province and the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate.
We thank our sisters worldwide for supporting us with prayers as with one heart and one mind we reflected deeply on our mission spirit. May the good Lord support the new team so that they may seek to do the will of God.
